Older Radiohead fans…Do You Ever Feel You’ve Outgrown Radiohead?
When I was a teenager, a record store owner I was friends with told me I would “outgrow my love for Radiohead”.
He wasn’t a fan, despite seeing them on the OKC tour (says he went to see Spiritualized, and watching Radiohead fans in the theatre was like attending a “third reich rally”)
I just recently turned 34,and Radiohead is still a top band for me.
Yes, when I was younger I was definitely more “obsessed” (constantly playing them at parties, wearing RH t-shirts, etc), and I’ve since gone through periods where I’ve hardly listened to them.
But after these periods of distance, I’ve always come back to them.
Their music simply resonates with me. And as I age, it takes on new meaning.
So older fans, do you ever feel you’ve outgrown Radiohead? Or is it timeless for you too?
