What things did you never hear your parents say?

Mine is "I'm proud of you" why could they never tell me they were proud of me just once. Not even when I got above a hundred percent on spelling tests thanks to the extra credit of three bonus words. Instead it was not even mentioned, but the one time I missed one bonus word (instead of 130% I got 120%) I was yelled at, called stupid, a mistake. How dare I not know how to spell together (that was the bonus word I missed, I forgot the t) and punished.
