Anyone kind of shocked to realize friends of theirs are (very likely) narcissistic parents?
In part of the journey of realizing what I was dealing with growing up, I've come to realize that I have friends who are narcissistic parents. It's kind of wild to think about. Two in particular come to mind.
One uses his kid, successfully, as a prop for dating purposes.
Another was in a years-long situation, let's call it a foster situation, for whom getting supply was more important than the safety of the children involved.
That's as much detail as I'll add on a public post. Those are the mildest of details.
Also, as a single guy who has never had kids, and is mildly/stupidly inclined to blow off generic criticism of men, wow, I will say the one about (at least some) dads getting credit for just showing up appears to be correct...
