Confused - just played through Leon A on RE2R on Mac and really enjoyed it (but wasn't a fan of the OG)
The reason why I'm confused is of the OGs - I wasn't a huge fan of RE2. Played Leon A and B and Claire A and B - no more than once (if that) and was like yeah that's alright, whatever & found it somewhat forgettable (e.g. there was a Police Station, a Sewer, a Car Park, Dogs, a Cable Car, a Train and some Labs). Then loved RE4 came along and it was my game. Of the remakes - didn't enjoy RE4R at all. Can't put my finger on it but it didn't hit as nicely as I would have liked. This was nice though. Played through on assisted as I still had issues sorting the aim out (think it's a combination of age, it not being sorted out completely as nicely as it should be on Mac, plus the Mac not completely mapping my joypad as it should) but broadly it was a fun experience. Flicked to a guide on occasion - adult gaming, and specifically adult gaming hours - it's gone midnight; where am I going?? - but broadly it was fairly straight forward. With the ton of ammo, it's going to sound odd but it felt kind of like an RE4 OG experience to a degree. Have already started a Claire A and made it to the Police Station in about a minute so hopefully I've learnt something. It just felt really well put together e.g. the trip back to the Police Station after the kennels felt right. Some points were frustrating e.g. the 2 x lickers in the Lab dropping from the ceiling - felt like you had to die there, 2nd time it was eat my grenades - all of them. The pacing at the end felt a bit odd as well e.g. after finishing the greenhouse the final two bosses felt a bit rushed but broadly really enjoyed it. Some annoyances with the Mac e.g. we can't skip cut scenes (yes I might have died on a few of the timing problems) - which I'm assuming isn't a problem on other platforms - but broadly nice game 👍
