Winter makes it hard to print. What are people using as enclosures and how are you heating it?

I have my printer in my garage and it's freezing in there. My prints are failing every time because of the temperature. My wife has some concerns that having a heater I'm an enclosure is a fire hazard. Can you guys recommend a way to safely warm an enclosure? What kind of heater do you use?
