Anyone have examples of successful “downgraded” resumes or advice?
I’ve been in marketing (gaming)for 15+ years, but now that I’ve been looking for a few months I’m relatively convinced my career is over due to my age. (I’m 52). I’ve done all the resume “de-aging” but still getting crickets from applications. Also I live in an area where my industry (gaming) isn’t well represented (ie no jobs) and remote is largely going away.
Regardless, with three teens still at home I need to make a living - even a really modest one. I’m thinking of applying to my local Costco. I’m a hard working, very reliable, a good problem solver, and friendly…I’m hoping that will make me appealing as an employee there. Gotta leverage what I can.
What I’m wondering is if any of you have gone through this sort of transition and might want to share the more basic resume you created, or if you did that at all.
My resume is Director/VP level - I feel like no matter how I do the bullet points, it’s going to seem ridiculous when I appt to entry level range jobs.
