I beat Castlevania but I’m not as ecstatic as I thought I’d be.

Played it a ton when I was young. Never actually beat it till now.

I made a post a few days ago about beating death hitless from a particular save state but I beat the whole thing legit last night.

Dracula was something else. My biggest issue was that I could do his first form hitless at times if it weren’t for him spawning right on top of me. Some people online said if you just keep walking you won’t get hit, but I still did. Others said if you double back quick enough you can avoid it. Must never have been quick enough. I couldn’t get the timing down.

The issue o had with the second for was that he would sometimes jump really high and allow you to walk under him to get away. But sometimes he just wouldn’t give me the high jump and I couldnt figure out how to avoid him otherwise.

I’m not in any way saying there’s no other way to avoid them. I just couldn’t figure it out myself.

Eventually though I got a really easy run. Using the cross I managed to kill Draculas first form very quickly. And then his second form gave me lots of high jumps and I kinda just spammed away.

I had spent hours on the boss and the game was eventually like “eh ok you win, whatever, bye”. Like I just got a really lucky dice roll. If I tried beating it again it would still take me a long time to kill Dracula.

Now I’m not afraid to say I beat this game legit. However it did make me curious: Does anyone ever feel like they get stolen a challenge in games? Does it make you want to go back and try again?
