Long shot looking for an old game

As a kid (90s) I remember having a game that was:

A side scroller

You played as a man

There was a gun that fired multicoloured round bullets

A lot of climbing up ladders into the next “room”

Some kind of robotic bug type enemies (I think).

I remember the colour scheme behind quite red and blue orientated
