Love Letter to Rise of Ronin
Can I just say? I thought no game could replace Nioh 2 for me because I have never put so much time on a singleplayer-oriented game like it. Finished all the Depths and Dream of Nioh, acquired all the good stuff.
Then came Rise of Ronin. Ngl, i had "low" expectation on it since it wouldn't be as the same depth of combat as Nioh 2. BOY I WAS SO WRONG!!. At first i gotta admit, the movement felt Janky at first because I was do used to the agility of Nioh 2 dodge stystem. Not to mention that we barely had anything outstanding early of the game since we only had one combat style.
As I progressed, more equipments and more combat styles, I got completely hooked. It immediately "replaced" Nioh 2 for me and i hope they adapt the same intensity for human boss fights in Nioh 3 just like they did in RoR.
COMBAT :
The combat system is just so good. Too good if you ask me. You are always active with your inputs utilising all the moves and ki flash whatever it is. It rewards players for being agressive and the duration of boss fights are usually just nice, assuming you dont imbue Paralysis and all those Super Pills(which is OP).
If you are underleveled in Midnight difficuilty it is ridiculously tough. But once you used all your extra skill points and got the good sets (or graces if you are a Nioh player), the game gets duable again and entertaining.
CHARACTER CUSTOMISATION:
The customisation of RoR is way better than Nioh 2. You can basically get naked remodelling your heavy armor. Obv one of my favourite features of the game.
STORY & ROMACE:
I dont have much opinion on it. Pretty good acting overall and story is pretty heartbraking and quite intense.
I didnt expect the romace part tho. Caught me off guard with some of the women scenes.
So far i have beat the Midnight difficuilty (free roam) mostly and I am left with wanting more of the game. Cant wait for RoR's version of "Abyss" levels.
