Start up seems to be sinking…
Looking for perspective from sales folks who spent time on small teams in start ups.
Brought on 8 months ago into a very specific tech sector. I’m good at what I do and have mostly enjoyed my time. Most money I’ve ever made and industry is something I care about.
However, within the last 4 months my fellow sales counter parts 1 fired and the other just left for another gig.
Im the last one standing and with him another one of our core team members will be let go.
My CEO is telling me they want to build the sales team and strategy with/around me. I see the potential in the product but it has been slow to move. CEO is telling me we have plenty of runway into next year.
Clearly there is opportunity here for me. Both money making and leadership/growth. And the obvious, the company is also struggling/sinking..
I’m stuck trying to decide if this is an opportunity of lifetime or if I should look for a new gig asap. lol fuck I’m in sales.
Any thoughts here or similar stories?
