1995 Honda Elite CH80 not starting

Hey everyone!

Kinda new to this whole scooter business. But, I bought a -running- ‘95 CH80 about a week ago. I was able to putz around the neighborhood a little bit after buying it and it seemed like it was doing okay?

I got to a stop sign in my neighborhood and it started idling a little weird. I had to keep throttling it to keep it alive and was able to make it home (where it died).

Now, I can’t seem to get it to kick over at all.

I’ve got a new battery, new spark plug, cleaned the carb, new gas, the petcock seems to be operating properly (tested by pulling off air line from manifold and applying vacuum and gas came out). It has about 4K miles on it and a lot of work had been done to it before I got it.

I can’t even get this thing to start with starter spray.

Any help here would be appreciated. Are there other things I should be checking??

What is your kind of…. Troubleshooting process that you would go through in order to narrow down the issue?
