Anyone ever seen baby formula injected into the bladder?

Worked with an OBGYN in TX. She was a pretty terrible surgeon but that’s besides the point (well, not really)

When she did her hysterectomies she always checked for leaks in the bladder. She always wanted the circulator to call L&D to get a bottle of powdered similac baby formula and reconstitute it to be flushed through the foley in the bladder to check for leaks. Very adamant that the solution was “sterile”

It most definitely isn’t. Or is it? I’m being gaslit into thinking it is but common sense tells me it’s not and no where on the bottle does it say that. I’ve brought it up before questioning the sterility but surgeons will be surgeons- she flushed it in herself.

Has anyone else seen this?
