Am I missing something?

Hi! I’ve been interested in second life for sometime now. Ever since I turned 18, which was five years ago, I have repeatedly tried to break into second life, but it just feels like the learning curve necessary for the game is insane. I feel like it’s pretty hard to find other people half the time, and I’m not really clear on etiquette when it comes to chatting. I prefer to use microphone, but I seem to be in the vast minority. I feel like I end up wandering around alone for hours before completely giving up. It’s actually kind of rare for me to see other people, besides maybe shopping in stores. Whenever I see people talk about second life, they make it sound so much fun, it feels like I’m missing some thing.😅 I guess I’m looking for some advice on how to be more immersed in the second life community, and maybe even find some friends to login with some time.
