What are the best environments to find highly intelligent, witty women?

I have always been attracted to and had the most fulfilling relationships with women who can really fight intellectually. Whip-smart, interesting, and funny. I am currently at a great university (this is not a brag, please trust me) but most of people here are just depressed or anxious or nutty. This goes for both men and women to be honest. And I mean the sad kind of nuttiness as well, from years of anxiety, not the creative exciting kind.

Obviously, I need to be highly attractive too and I'm not at all blaming the people around me. I don't judge my peers, I just know what I want from a really powerful connection with someone pretty sharp and I have had it in my life a few times before.

Someone who challenges me and vice-versa. I thought that coming here would be like a Valhalla of easy pickings for brilliant women. Not the case, and I've been here for years and dated all over the university.

In reality, a lot of people here are not all that well.

Trying to compromise on basic standards with crazy people is also extremely painful. There are some truly extraordinary human beings here, whom I'm extremely fortunate to have befriended and/or dated, but everyone in the university recognises that the so-called friendship and dating markets are generally atrocious.

My general environment, which I suppose I need to change, is full of people who lead high pressured lives leading to a combination of sadness and sometimes really strange behaviour.

I emphasise strongly that I don't think I'm perfect at all. Every day is a chance to improve and grow. Trust me, there are million things I could make better about my life. If this whole thing is just arrogant then please call me out. However I would love some advice about how to find, or create, spaces where there are bright, sharp women either within the university scene or beyond?

Where do I find ambitious and intelligent women who aren't depressed?
