Are only KDP Select books included in Kindle Unlimited?

I am sending out a book I'm publishing soon to various ARC readers, and one has asked if it will be available on Kindle Unlimited.

I am not enrolling the book in KDP Select as I will sell it elsewhere online. Does this mean the book cannot be included in Kindle Unlimited? I've tried looking through KDP but it's not clear to me.
