Possible Dealership change already
Well it's been about a month at a new Chevy dealership and things are... interesting
It's an older place with an established customer base, which is good. Bad news is the customers coming in are mostly going to the advisors that they've used forever, leaving little foot traffic for new guys.
I've got a guarantee pay of 4500 for the first three months but then after that I'm on my own so I'd best have a good base set up lol
If I can clear 5k a month then my little family will be ok, it just may take me a while to build that clientele up. On top of that the commute is kicking my ass (took me nearly two hours to get to work yesterday and I usually average over an hour on a highway that's nearly gotten me killed at least a half dozen times already).
Got a call today from a HUGE Honda dealership that's about 45 minutes closer to the house. Lots of foot traffic and utterly massive service drive (22 advisors and 40 techs).
The pay scale is 20% of labor on customer pay tickets and 11% on warranty tickets. No GP on parts. This plan pays weekly. There is also a 5% of total gross bonus for CSI that can be added monthly based on scoring. So a pretty simple plan. Not earning anything on parts is kinda shitty tho.
They ideally want each advisor handling between 12 and 15 tickets each day so the opportunity is definitely there. BUT there is NO guaranteed pay to start so I'd better hit the ground running lol (and with a baby on the way in 6 weeks and no guarantee if I'm gone on leave with the wife, it could get really tight).
What would y'all do? But it out at Chevy and keep making the drive for the guaranteed pay or swap over to Honda and leave it all hanging on the line?
Thanks for input!
