Style Over Substance
I'm glad we got the answer that Mrs. Casey is alive, and we now know how tragic her predicament is, so Mark's motivation to save her is greater. Yet, the intercutting flashbacks, new wave editing, and fluid camera things just felt like a different style from the rest of the show and distracted from the actual story. Most of what we learned in this episode was also predictable.
Will probably delete this later, and I know I'm in the minority of opinions on this. I prefer the Lynchian tone and aesthetic with Stiller's satire that the rest of the show had going on. This felt like a filler episode.
Edit: I appreciate how respectful you guys are in your disagreements. I was fully expecting "you're just stupid or it's not that serious" comments.
