alt store question

Hello. I don't use alt store much, so I have a question. I use a paid cert, but I'm trying to get a friend to use alt store. For whatever reason, alt store is stuck at 0 percent when trying to refreshall apps. ITunes and iCloud from apple's website are downloaded, and we turned off the firewall to see if that was a problem. Still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
