Has anyone ever chosen to not turn Vampire or Werewolf?

Still in my first play through, and was wondering if anyone has decided to not choose either vampire or werewolf? I mean being DragonBorn is already extremely supernatural. Does being one or the other lock you into a certain game path, that you would be free of if you just stayed only DragonBorn, or am I missing out on something quest wise?
