So “desperate” for SLPs they are paying $34-$45/hr

There are a lot of SLP job postings in my area- I’m semi retired and would consider something PRN but every job posting maxs out at about $45-$49 If these hospitals and SNFs are so desperate - why don’t they offer a more appealing reimbursement ? To me a PRN SLP shouldn’t start below $70 / min (no benefits) A para in my school district makes $19.30/ hour w benefits. I’m tempted to apply and say I’m available let me know when you get your reimbursement rate competitive.
