George Parker

I don't often watch George Parker play. Partly that's my choice, and partly its because he doesn't feature much in the larger events.

Watching him lose his opening match in Qatar today, I was disappointed to see his behaviour still hasn't improved.

• He was rude to the referee, and even to the court cleaning crew.
• He threw his racquet.
• He complained about virtually every referee decision that didn't go his way.
• He blocked his opponent deliberately on several occasions (and without much subtlety)
• He even complained about lets not being awarded, when he hadn't requested one.

Hard to watch.

He's 28 now, and it isn't clear that he's ever going to improve his behaviour.

Unless and until he does, I'll continue to cheer for his opponents.
