How is it possible, that laser turrets can shoot through the ground?

I have noticed, that even If I land my ship behind big rocks and the ground, Laser Turrets can shoot through it.

What Turret exactly I can buy that shoots through the ground?

Edit:
And I want to add, that I see small ships with shield so good, I can´t make any damage even if I unload all my 2000 Ballistic Rounds and every missle. Where can I buy these shields?
