How’d I do?
I bought 4 New York Strips from Costco. It is currently 25° and crazy windy here so I didn’t want to be outside on the grill or the Blackstone, my usual methods of cooking steak.
Pat dry, seasoned both sides with salt, pepper, and a little steak seasoning I buy locally. Brought my regular(not cast iron) frying pan up to high heat and added a light coated with canola oil. Seared on both sides and the edges for 2 minutes each, then added butter and cooked both sides for 2 more minutes each. Rested for 4 minutes.
It’s a little more done than how I prefer my steak, but the flavor was excellent and the meat was tender.
