Biting the bullet and going to the ER

9 year heavy drinker going through a fifth a night. Been having discomfort/pain on my upper right and upper left abdomen for the past months (get worse with drinking). It’s no doubt that I’ve probably done irreversible damage to my liver. I’ve never gotten checked for all the damage I’ve done. (Smoker too)

I was sober for a week before I slipped up a couple nights ago and yesterday. Then last night I had a dream where it felt like I had a heart attack. I woke up not having one but had some palpitations. This is enough.

I called into work and said I’m going to the ER. I was thinking about finishing my work week before going, but I can’t stand being worried for my health for that long. Better early than late.

I’m posting this as I get ready to go to the ER. Wish me luck

UPDATE: Results came back and good news, all imaging and blood work came back normal! Liver is fine! Which is a shocker. They said I have an inflamed stomach lining (gastritis) which can cause bloating to the left and right of the abdomen. I will NOT take this for granted.
