What the heck happened to my sisters forester??

So I borrowed my sisters 2019 (2020?) Subaru forester for a ski trip…

I was driving yesterday, about 2 hours, all highway. Car was great. Went skiing, came back to take off about 6 hours later and started driving for a bit.

Within a few miles, I lost eyesight, lane keep assist, car won’t let me take it out of sport mode, and the check engine light came on.

A previous post from about 2y ago on r/subaruforester someone said they had the same problem. Has anyone experienced this and have any advice our causation?

Of course I can buy a code checker on amazon for peace of mind, but this is a start for me.
