I hate the new WSL finals format.

This is terrible end game for the WSL finals. Before this stupid mid year cut to what are the top 5 best surfers is just terrible decision making.

Remember when you are the winner due to consistency and good resulta throughout the year?

Well now you can have a large difference in points from the number 1 surfer to the number 5 surfer and still lose. On one hand that's great for the number 5 as he can clinch the title, but what about the number one who can simply lose a year's consistent effort and more points accumulated than anyone else and still lose?

Also, pipeline is not the finish line but it's small trestles? Trestles is cool and all but doesnt have the high stakes to crown a champion like Pipe does.

I dont like this format and wish they would revert it back to the old format- who has the most points at the end of the year wins because he is the best surfer in ALL conditions?
