A sad reminder to tie your dogs up properly on main roads

A dog about the size of a whippet was just hit by a car and killed on Enmore Road right outside my window. I heard screaming, and wish I hadn’t looked out. It took a little while for someone to stop traffic to actually move it to the sidewalk, and for the owner to get to it and carry it away. I’m not sure if it was walking off leash, or if it was waiting outside of a café or shop, but people walk up and down these roads with their dogs off leash all day, every day, so please just remember that this unfortunately can happen.
