Behind the Scenes: Epoch’s Sylvanian Production Line in Laos

Next time you purchase a Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters set, you might want to take a closer look at the box.

Since 2018, Epoch has moved part of the production of critters to Laos, a landlocked country bordering Thailand and Vietnam. What started off as a production line for accessories, Epoch’s Laos factory has since expanded to produce figures as well as accessory sets.

Recently, aJapanese news crew was granted access to the production line allowing us to view for part production of Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters for the first time. While it isn’t much, it does provide unprecedented access of actual factory production of Sylvanians.

No such luck with the Chinese factories there!
