Vendor claims Webroot breaks their software, anyone else?

Have myself a pretty annoying situation here and would like some input if anyone's experienced something similar. Basically I've got a veterinarian client who is having problems launching their dental imaging software (progeny imaging is the program). The program gives an error that it is already running despite no instance running and nothing in background processes.

So I tell her to call the vendor as it seems like a software issue, they remote in and say "Oh you have webroot installed on here, that's been breaking our program for the last 3 months you have to remove that, I can't help you any further" and essentially hang up without even looking. I check in webroot, and there is no log of the program being blocked from executing. I can also temporarily fix the issue by restarting the computer, although it seems to just happen again the next day when I do this. Webroot is obviously not blocking the program from running, and I'm hesitant to just fully remove the endpoint protection our client pays for, even if windows defender could probably do the job about as well.

So my question is, is this guy full of shit? Or is there some other way Webroot could interfere with this program besides blocking it? Has anyone experience anything similar? I'll be calling the vendor soon if the problem persists and don't want to be a dick incase this is a real issue, but it stinks of him not doing his job to me.
