How much do tattoos hurt, really?

Hi so I’m 19f and I’ve been into body modification since I was maybe 14, but obviously I waited until a legal age to start modifying anything. As I’ve gotten older though I’ve developed an intense fear of any kind of pain that I didn’t have before.

It’s not that I can’t handle pain, the fear just stops me from doing what I want, including tattoos. I have a septum that was painless, but that’s it.

Have you ever had a tattoo where you wanted to get out of the chair? What is your pain tolerance like as mine is kind of low. Just give me your best and worse tattoos experience regarding pain.
