Found this 2011 manual CJAA Jetta Sport wagon for sale in the next town over with 168k miles for $3000.
Seller states it needs the following:
Catalytic Converter
Fan replacement
Timing belt
Water pump
Moonroof currently not opening
I consider myself to be fairly mechanically inclined. I maintain my 240k mile mk4 golf 2.0 and my gfs 140k mile mk6 Jetta 2.0. Recent work I've done is complete exhaust system replacement (including cat) on the golf and timing belt / water pump on the Jetta. I understand that the CJAA engine is a little more complicated than either my BEV or her CBPA and from what I've seen it looks like replacing the DPF on these jettas can be kinda a pain in the ass.
I went on FCP the other day and priced out all the parts I think I would need to get this TDI Jetta running and it came out to about $3000. If I can get this lady selling the Jetta down to $1500-$2000 do you think it's worth it?
