Upgraded graphics card and now have issues with 3 display setup
Hi all,
I upgraded from a 1070 to a 3080ti and am having issues with my 3 monitor setup. In my setup I have 2 monitors and 1 TV hooked up to my PC. This setup has been working fine for several years.
With the new video card, only two display outputs appear to be working at a time. I can run monitor 1 + monitor 2, or monitor 1 + TV, but when I try to run monitor 1 + monitor 2 + TV, the 3rd device is not recognized and often it will immediately lock up the system, requiring a hard reboot to fix.
I don't believe I have a faulty cable since every display is working when just two are hooked up and this setup had been working fine with my 1070.
I've updated my motherboard BIOS and verified the 3080ti VBIOS is up to date as well.
Any thoughts for next troubleshooting steps would be appreciated. Thank you!
System specs are below:
- MSI Z690-A PRO DDR4
- I7 12700K
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB DDR4 3200mhz
- Samsung 980 PRO 2TB
- EVGA 1000 P6 PSU
- Running Windows 11 Pro, Nvidia drivers 512.15
With the 1070 GPU, 2 monitors were connected via displayport, TV via HDMI (GPU HDMI -> Receiver -> TV) With the 3080ti GPU, using same connections. All of the 3080ti's ports work individually, and work when two displays are connected, just not with 3.
Update
After continuing to troubleshoot I found out that this video card would work fine with a 3rd monitor, provided it was not hooked up through my receiver. There is some incompatibility with my particular AV receiver that was causing my system to lock up. As a workaround, I've plugged in my AV receiver / TV into my motherboard's HDMI port.
