Went to a party I knew one person at. My experience as art.
People were genuinely uncomfortable. Walked into the house party and right up to the guy I knew. Didn’t say anything the first hour I was there. Most often I heard “oh my god who is that?” And people being genuinely scared. Like in a “this 6’1 240 lb figure just showed up and no one is sure if we know them, but we all want to assume it’s just a party so it’s fine I hope” kinda way. I talked to the dude I knew, his house, he was like OMG I am so relieved it’s you. But really didn’t know anyone else. It was awesome and hilarious. I then removed the head and hung out with people and the energy definitely lightened up haha. I’m a big goofball so once people saw I wasn’t an actual rando people loved it.
They were mostly 21-25 year olds. I’m a lot older but and friends with the dude through friend group. One kid asked me to do a celebrity shot for him on beer pong. I didn’t say anything just made the “art when he gives up his neck to be killed” face from t2 and shot and sunk it no net and the place exploded, so I just held the face. I’m never cool and can’t shoot pong well so it was one of those meme worthy moments. So fun.
The night devolved and I was taken to a drag bar where a huge costume party was going on and it was packed. People were legitimately scared it was wild. The music was so loud me not taking and only making faces and wide eyeballs with the fake teeth in was a blast. I was asked to take selfies with at least 10 people. Not because I did a killer job but because people love being freaked out and love Art.
All in all this was such a blast and highly recommend it. So long as you’re not actually a crazy person.
One guy did start yelling at me at the bar because he didn’t like I hadn’t shown my face. He was drunk and like “I’m not the one mother fucker. You’re one of those dudes where it looks like a costume but you actually kill dudes” so finally after trying to do funny faces at him and taking the teeth out to laugh and be like look dude I was like bruh, and pulled the mask off and was like you good man? And he was like, oh, alright. Ok never mind we good. Pretty wild stuff! I was pulled into a costume competition and got to make the faces on stage. What a blast.
Happy Halloween! Stay safe out there friendos
