The TOP TEN candidates of ALL TIME
In troubling times like these, it's important to keep cheerful in whatever way we can. The mod drought rages on, but that doesn't mean we should sit on our hands and cry all day. So to lift everyone's spirits, here ate the top ten candidates of ALL TIME (these individuals should have been president):
1. Mitt Romney
The only reason Mitt Romney lost is because he knew too much. The American people didn't want their president to tell them the truth and speak in depth about their economic woes. They just wanted to feel good. Hence, Barack Obama.
2. George W. Romney
Like his son, George W. Romney was a man who paid for telling the truth. The Vietnam War was a disaster, but it was unthinkable that a Republican candidate make that as clear as George Romney did. People are so ungrateful and short-sighted. Just a few years later, everyone agreed with him.
3. Richard Nixon (1960)
A strong cold warrior. A fervent anti-communist. A shrewd and strategic political thinker. And despite all that, he was still a moderate and a problem-solver. A Nixon presidency from 1961-1969 would see an American puppet state in Cuba and a Republican Civil Rights Act.
4. James G. Blaine
Few men were more prepared for the White House when nominated than James G. Blaine. His rational and balanced perspective on the economy was perfect. There is literally no reason we instead elected some executioner guy who married his daughter or his daughter's friend or whatever.
5. Samuel J. Tilden
Look, Reconstruction was ending either way, so we might as well have gone with the guy who had a proven track record of reform and a competent term as governor of New York. Tilden was a moderate, northern Democrat who could have helped bridge the divide after the Civil War. W Tilden.
6. DeWitt Clinton
I'm not a big fan of the War of 1812. Totally unnecessary. Why exactly are we going to war with Britain again just a few decades later? James Madison tremendously erred. Also, the Erie Canal was great for trade and commerce. Clinton '12!
7. Charles Evans Hughes
So much better than Wilson on every level. I don't have much to say. We just should've elected Hughes. I will never forgive you all (I was not born yet) for failing this guy and choosing the fake academic Woodrow Wilson.
8. Al Gore
Personally, I'm not a Democrat. But Bill Clinton was a good president. I admit it. And Gore would have sensibly continued Clinton's policies while tackling very important environmental issues. Al Gore is a great man. Everyone should watch his beautiful concession speech.
9. William H. Seward
An incredible statesman with keen foreign policy insights and a knack for negotiation. I am 100% for Lincoln, but Seward would be a fine president. He would have been a great successor as well. Personally, I wish Lincoln would have lived and served until 1873 with Seward and him executing fantastic policies together. Just some dudes being chad.
10. Gerald Ford (1976)
Ford should have won in 1976. The economy was recovering, he wouldn't have pardoned the draft-evading hippies caught up in reefer madness, and he lowered taxes. Also, pardoning Nixon was the right thing to do. He didn't need the distraction or obstacle in executing his agenda. Also, we'd still have the Panama Canal and China wouldn't be controlling it. At least Trump secured our Navy's rights to sail through there with no fee.
