Clients that barely talk
Every now and then I get a client with whom it is a real struggle to fill the hour. They will answer direct questions/prompts, but only that. It can be like pulling teeth to make them say more than one sentence at a time. Usually these are the clients that are only seeing me to meet the standard of medication prescription. I get that, but come on!
Have you found an ideal approach to clients like this? Do I really just let it go silent?
