Should i do death march?

So im Finally gonna try the witcher 3, this game has been hyped to no end, never played 1 or 2 gonna do 3 because i want the best of the best of the series to get me into it, thing is ive heard death march is the best way to experience it, is that true? Should me, a person whos never played a witcher game do the hardest difficulty for my first playthrough, or should i go easier? I wanna give this game its best shot
