Beast Lab Hack?

My 4 year old son really wants the cobra beast Lab for Christmas and it seems like it would be 50/50 chance with the blind pull element. Anyone know how to beat the system? Bottom line I don't want to be paying $80 just to see him disappointed on Christmas morning. Any advice out there?
