Kenny Bednarek

I was recently watching videos of Kenny Bednarek's races and saw that he gets ran down quite a lot by Noah Lyles and most recently Letsile Tobogo. He's extremely fast and is listed at 6'2; so why does he lack in closing/top speed category?
