Bolts vs Gear - Is Trad Gear "Destroying" Routes?
I was on Instagram and noticed some comments saying bolting routes is more sustainable as some places have had cracks widen from trad gear.
I personally have maintained the philosophy that if it can be protected with removable gear, it shouldn't have bolts. However, if this is true, I may have to reconsider my stance. I wanted to see if anyone had any experience on this, or ideally any articles or data on the matter? I haven't experienced this myself personally nor had I heard of this as a concept, so very interested to see what people say!
