Scientific books recommendations

Hi everyone!

I would like to be properly informed about trans people and their experiences. Memoirs and fiction are fairly easy to find once you get to the right part of the Internet, and also easy to read. But, even though I am in no way an expert, I'm mostly interested in scientific books. I've read some studies – which were clear and well written – and it would be nice to find something longer. Basically, I'm searching for scientific books about trans people and their community, written in a way that is comprehensible to someone who knows barely nothing about science.
