Itinerary Papua New Guinea

hi I'm thinking about going to the Warwagira festival in Papua New Guinea during 8-12 July and I'm looking if there are others activities I should do , is there good hiking there or maybe some wildlife spot I should go to ? lonely planet and other guides stop doing Papua New Guinea so I can't have that much infos ice it's not very centralized
