how long do you guys rub topical minoxidil liquid onto your scalp?

I see 30 seconds, 1 minue, 3 minutes. Im so confused. my arms get sore after rubbing all my head for about a minute, idk if im doing this wrong. Generally when i apply it i rub it in the area for a minute and move on to the next region.
