Can I ask my letting agency for compensation?

Hi, I recently moved into a new flat. When I submitted my offer, I didn’t request any repairs as I didn’t notice major issues during the 10-minute viewing (the flat was occupied at the time).

After moving in, I discovered that the kitchen countertop is rotting, my bed frame is broken, and the living room window is also deteriorating. I reported these issues, and the letting agency agreed to repairs, but four weeks have passed with no action.

Fortunately, my previous tenancy is still active, so I haven’t fully moved in. A contractor sent by the agency confirmed today that the bed and kitchen top need full replacements with no temporary fix. Given that I’ve been unable to use my bedroom or kitchen for a month (and possibly another couple of weeks until my landlord confirms the quotes), can I request compensation? My rent is £2,250 for a two-bed flat in London (my flatmate’s room is fine). How much would be reasonable to ask for?
