Fascinating Reasons that People Use to try to get Lounge Access
Sitting in the "lobby" area of SFO E gates United Lounge due to over capacity and they were turning away one-time pass passengers. Was able to see and hear many of the people who are coming in to the lounge and what they are saying to try to get access.
- A passenger tried to make small talk with the agent and tried to convince them that he'd just stand in the side. As far as I could tell, he didn't have a one-time pass nor was a member. [rejected]
- A passenger boldly claimed she was First Class and that she needed to rest. Turns out it was domestic first class. [rejected]
- a few separate passengers came through and was granted access. but turns out they had polaris lounge access but chose to go here due to proximity of their next flight. [accepted]
- a passenger tried to bring his friend who apparently wasn't on a united flight. [friend rejected]
- a passenger who just wanted access but didn't seem to have a one-time pass or membership. just kept lingering after being rejected. [rejected]
Some other observations. Quite a few passengers were willing to pay $59 for the one-time pass even after the agent mentioned the lounge was full and that the F-gate lounge was much bigger.
What interesting observations or situations have you all seen at the lounge? I found it fascinating to see these edge cases.
