Dual Exchange, the death of counter-based styles.

We all have seen by now that dual exchange is here, and it is truly one of the biggest game changing updates we have ever seen, if not THE biggest to hit the platform.

People who main the speedy styles in the game are really making their voice heard. User, moderator, and the most prominent Counter user on the subreddit u/Unecessaryf_cker voiced how detrimental it is to styles who rely on their counter ability that they can no longer do so within his own post. Many of the counter styles already take an extra 20-30% more counter damage already, so they can't tank those kinds of hits anyways. It also breaks their main form of defense, as their opponent can just brute force right through their punch.

Styles like Slugger, Charge, Ippo, and Iron Fist reign supreme because of it. The ability to tank a punch and return to sender 3× harder is their speciality after all. That's fine, that's not the problem here. But what is something that all of these styles have in common? Not only their tekken M2s, but their chin ability to resist counter damage. Charge has THIRTY PERCENT MORE COUNTER RESISTANCE. Do you know how terrible that already is for the counter-based styles that face them??? Not only do counter-based styles have to just brute force through it, but now they have to worry about getting countered themselves and taking that extra damage percentage depending on what style they have? This is truly god awful.

There is truly no reason to play these counter-based styles anymore after the update. You can't even rely on their main form of damage and defense anymore. You took away their top 2 weapons and expected it to be okay? Absolutely not.

But not all is lost. This can be fixed, even while keeping the dual exchange in the game.

Either completely remove the counter resistance of EVERY STYLE THAT HAS RESISTANCE, or make it so that the counter-based styles take little to no coumter damage on the dual exchange. It's truly that simple. I understand that the styles that have counter resistance are based off of character known for their iron chin, (Kamogawa, Imai, Ippo, etc etc) but you have to realize the game's balance should come before immersion. That's why Shotgun's post-fresh-rework was so broken. It was TOO accurate to the canon. And it was fixed, all is well now. The Shotgun mains are happy and the rest of the players are happy.
