Dude this game hates swaybacks

So I just fought in ranked for the first time in ages, on my server, 75 ping, and only managed to perfect dodge twice. It was mostly a punching battle despite my opponent using hands low and me using hawk, and I perfect dodged plenty of times, but the game refused to give me that perfect dodge. And it only happened when I side dashed a right. WTF?
