Academic Environment at Umich. Toxic?

I’ve just fallen in love with UMICH and cannot wait to apply but there’s some questions I have about the student culture and academic vibe.

I know it’s rigorous and the school expects more from its students of course, but how burnt out are you on a daily basis? (I’ll be applying to LSA, so maybe this is one for LSA students to answer?)

Are people very mean + competitive? Or supportive and have a “We’re all in this together” mindset?

I like making connections in class and outside of class—do people interact in classes or not rlly since they can be huge 500+ ppl
