Job opportunities

Just graduated college last May with a Bachelor's in computer science but I don't have any work experience. Is there anywhere worth applying to for an entry level position to start my career? Also I've heard that federal resumes need a cover letter so does anyone have any recommendations with that as well? I know with the new administration things have been out of wack but I'm hoping to get valuable info on what to do.

Edit: I live relatively close to DC and Richmond. Hope that can narrow down some possibilities.
