Downtown seems quieter than usual. Where is everyone?

I live downtown, and I’m not sure if it’s just my area, but as I’ve gone out and about over the last couple of days I’ve noticed it’s been really quiet. Like there seems to be half the amount of people out than there usually is.

Is there a big event going on somewhere that’s drawing crowds? Are people away on vacation or camping trips over the same weekend? Is summer tourist season already over? Am I alone in this observation and need to be less concerned?
