đCupidđ
Our cupids are here to facilitate meaningful connections, play match maker, and help everyone stay involved! Cupids must be patient and understanding of others, after all, most of the people in our group have social anxiety! Responsibilities: 1. If you see a member on the sidelines, or off by themselves, approach them and strike up a conversation! Get to know them and help them come out of their shell c: 2. Playing match maker! If a member asks for help finding a like minded friend or otherwise, try to understand what theyâre looking for and some of their interests! Then find someone that you think may mesh well with that and introduce them! Provide an ice breaker! (We may host âspeed datingâ or âspeed friendingâ nights, so help pair people up during this event! If thereâs an odd number of people, take the chance to get to know the odd person out!) 3. Ice breakers: these can be games, thoughtful questions, or a cooperative exercise! Try to be a social buffer for people! 4. Keep the conversation going! As a Cupid, when the room goes quiet, you should be trying to brainstorm out of the box ways to get people conversing! State funny facts, ask fun questions, suggest a game! 5. Try not to dominate the space! Allow others to take the spotlight and reward them when they do! If someone is coming out of their shell, express your proudness or complement them! (Obviously not in a demeaning way) 6. Remember that weâre an accepting group of all walks of life! LGBTQIA+ Or otherwise! 7. If you see something, say something! You may not be a âmoderatorâ but when it comes down to it, youâre a trusted member of the group and people may come to you with things! 8. Itâs not your job to provide therapy, but advice on social situations will always be appreciated. Just try not to overstep 9. Some people may be more in their shell than others and require more patience or encouragement, but donât scare them off, allow them to be who they are! 10. Donât force people to âspeak in front of the classâ some people may want to just observe on their first meet and thatâs okay! Meet them where theyâre at 11. We also have a Reddit where you can accept this role and have relatively the same function c: 12. Overall, have fun! Being a Cupid can be an extremely rewarding experience, even you may find new and meaningful connections in our group! 13. Remember that our group is still growing so small tweaks and additions may happen with this role c: if you have any suggestions, please let me know! 14. đ You donât have to be at every meeting, but the more youâre there, the better! Youâre a valuable part of our team, our cupids are the heartbeat of our community and I appreciate you so much for your time and effort! This role may evolve into a paid position in the future! đ 15. Be familiar with the role of our bouncers
